Charlie Clevenger Mrs. Craft English 9H, Period 4 6 December 2011 King Arthur: The Chosen King Although his stories are probably fictional, King Arthur?s legendary figure has acquired large amounts of popularity in culture today. His legends have inspired a vast collection of books and movies. Although Arthur?s historical background is the basis for the legends, it is not nearly as precise. The legends involved a mixture of magic, romance, adventure, betrayal, and adultery. King Arthur was the greatest king of England, but his quest was for the Holy Grail, with his Knights of the Round Table, his magical sword Excalibur, and Merlin the Wizard.

what is culture?? culture is what we care about and what we take care of. Also it is the people way of life, their behaviors, and their shared understanding about themselves and the world. what is region? a region is an area with common characteristics. there are three different kind of region the first one is: formal region: has a common human characteristic such as language, religion, or level of economic developement, or climate, vegetation. functional region: are held together by a common set of linkage or spatial interactions. venecular or perceptual region: it?s base on people? s feeling or beleifs about areas and are subjective rather than objective in nature. this picture is a perceptual region showing the different regions of the united states.

Location: Position on Earth?s surface Absolute location is derived from longitude and latitude. Place: Physical and human characteristics Physical: Landforms Climate Soil Animal life Human: Activities Means of transportation Religion Language Human interaction with the environment: how people alter the world around them. Hidden costs: pollution, pesticides. People?s adaptation: conformity to the land. i.e. Igloos in the north. Movement: Shift of people, goods and ideas Migration: people move to find resource/freedoms/natural disasters/war Trade: Movement of goods between areas. Resources are spread differently => import and export of goods.
