Jordan Castle Period 1 3/22/13 Word Count: 313 In the Shakespearian story, A Midsummer Night?s Dream, a relationship between love and reason is seen between various characters. When Shakespeare talks about the interplay of love and reason, he is saying that a person can be controlled totally by love and by reasoning but at times, one wins over the other. In the story, a character that is ruled by love is Lysander. In the beginning of the story, Lysander is in love with Hermia, but as soon as Puck puts him under a love spell, Lysander professes his love for Helena. Lysander is completely driven by love and does not take reason into account. Lysander says on page 29, Content with Hermia? No; I do repent The tedious minutes I have with her have spent. Not Hermia, but Helena I love.

Because expects or authorities usually have more information, knowledge or wisdom in their area of expertise, one would think people would trust their advice or guidance. But in reality, as the following examples, Juliet and Tybalt, characters in The Tradegy of Romeo and Juliet , do not trust the authorities, and some people do not trust the experts' warnings regarding drugs and junk food, show that people do not put too much trust in the guidance of experts and authorities. In the play, Juliet does not trust her parents, the authorities, are looking out for her best interests, and Tybalt does not believe the prince, the authority, will go through with his threats

DeBry 3 Alex DeBry Ms. Taylor English 1 0ctober Fear is something we have to think about almost a daily basis, some things that have risks people can push the fear aside but the fear will always be there. Fear can be very powerful and can lead societies to chaos. The biggest fears in the book were fears of dying and the fear of the unknown. Every body in the book had their own way of expressing their fear and what they had a fear of, but it was in everyone. In William Golding?s book The Lord of the Flies, fear is what eventually causes them to turn against each other until they are so paranoid about the beast that they kill one of the boys on the island thinking it is the beast.

First Section ? ?Interesting / Valuable Quotes? Chapter 2 page 18: ?A fire! Make a fire!? At once half the boys were on their feet. Jack clamored among them, the conch forgotten. The boys are longing to be saved and to get off the island. They would do whatever to get help. When the idea of the fire as a signal for passing by ships to notice them was suggested, they got energetic and were eager to build the fire on top of the mountain. They want to return to their old lives so they all agree on taking part in the fire even when not all the boys knew each other. Even the conch, the most valuable thing to them was forgotten at the moments. As the story goes on, the boys maintain the fire and I also realized that the fire is their hope. Chapter 5 page 82:

Reena Maali P.6 3-4-13 This article is about the top movies to come out of SXSW. SXSW is a film festival from Austin, Texas that was started in 1994, making it one of the youngest of the widely-know film fests. The films, in order of release are A Mighty Wind, Knocked Up, Super High Me, Drag Me To Hell, Winnebago Man, Kick-Ass, Conan O?Brien Can?t Stop, and Kill List. Some of these films were even big hits in the mainstream film industry and were shown nationally. This article relates to class because film festivals are necessary for making it in the film industry and many people get noticed there, so a tv production class should be well aware of the types of films that make it in and how to ensure that your film will be noticed and make a splash.

We have all been there at one point or another in our studious careers. You read the poem a thousand times yet nothing sinks in. You circle random ?literary devices?, hoping the teacher will give you credit for trying anyway. Don?t be that person anymore! Analyzing poems is actually a simple activity which can easily turn into a fun endeavor the more you practice.
