Fundamentally, Enzymes are organic catalysts that speed up the rate of virtually all biochemical reactions that occur in a cell. Ordinarily, cellular chemical reactions proceed so gradually that they would not occur under normal organism?s conditions of temperature and pressure (Enzyme Catalysis, 2015). Concisely, enzymatically catalyzed reactions involve the provision of an alternative route alongside stabilizing intermediates. Assignment 1: Effect of Temperature on Invertase Activity Hypothesis: As the temperature is raised the enzyme invertase will become denatured and enzyme activity will decrease, The plot from the product concentration versus time graph showed that the Invertase was most effective at 50.0 ?C. For the rest of the tested temperatures the Invertase was still able to function but the product concentration was lower. This is what I expected the results to be, because all enzymes have a optimum temperature that they work best at.
