Anglo Saxon culture values heroic values. Jesus is portrayed as a hero and a warrior. Jesus is preparing for battle rather than just being led to the cross. Jesus initiated the battle himself showing bravery and accepting his own fate to die on the cross. Power of gold. The major focus of the poem, then, is heroism, and the main themes explored are spiritual warfare, Christian versus pagan morality, courage, and the affirmation of faith in God. She uses physical and spiritual courage to rescue herself, her honor, and her people. The Old English poet does not present Judith as a devious seductress as portrayed in the original, but rather concentrates on Judith's submission to God and her Christian heroism.

Cynthia Cortez 3rd hour Nature can work in many ways. Nature has magical things that it can do to a person. It can help with making a person feel better, or relaxed. When a person is stressed out or just needs to get away from everything one place many think off is far away somewhere where no one can find them. A forest is part of nature. With nature being everywhere and can do many things to people, authors often put nature in their novel but people lease expect it. Around the world in eighty days essay When Phileas Fogg makes his journey around the world he is not alone. He is accompanied by his valet, Passepartout, an exuberant man with a big heart and an almost magnetic attraction to danger. He spends a good portion of the book getting himself and those around him into trouble and it is easy to imagine Fogg doing better without the hindering of his servitor. However, throughout the course of the story, Passepartout is transformed from an accident-prone manservant to one of the driving forces behind the story. DeBry 3 Alex DeBry Ms. Taylor English 1 0ctober Fear is something we have to think about almost a daily basis, some things that have risks people can push the fear aside but the fear will always be there. Fear can be very powerful and can lead societies to chaos. The biggest fears in the book were fears of dying and the fear of the unknown. Every body in the book had their own way of expressing their fear and what they had a fear of, but it was in everyone. In William Golding?s book The Lord of the Flies, fear is what eventually causes them to turn against each other until they are so paranoid about the beast that they kill one of the boys on the island thinking it is the beast.
