In the second half of Women of Brewster Place, Gloria Naylor continues her the theme she set forth in the first half. Throughout the story, Naylor uses her novel to portray a series of negative experiences the women of Brewster place had with the men in their life. As the story progressed, Naylor outlined the deep internal struggles that faced the women of Brewster Place very effectively; she did a great job of painting the life story of each of the women. Through the portrayal of the women?s life, I believe it would be fair to say that Naylor used her platform too in a way give men a bad reputation, because in the novel most of the negative things that happened in the film were as a result of the actions of different men.
