Political Cartoon In this cartoon the historical event being represented is the Cuban Missile Crisis. The message that is being conveyed in this cartoon is that if Russia were to attack the U.S. from Cuba, the U.S. is armed with their own missiles to strike back with. The cartoonist supports the United States side of the controversy. The result of this issue was that the United States and Russia negotiated an agreement saying that the United States will remove their missiles from Turkey if Russia removes theirs from Cuba. The effect this cartoon had on American History was that it showed the United States was prepared if they were to be attacked as well showing that Russia was not as strong as they appeared.
