By Martin Luther King, Jr. This speech by King took place on August 28, 1963. This was the pinnacle of the civil rights movement. King spoke to an audience of both White and Black Americans. This is expressed at one point in the speech where King states ??must not lead us to distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny and their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.?
