My name is Wendell Phillips and I was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1811 into a wealthy, long-established mercantile family My parents are Sarah Walley and John Phillips and they raised me very well and brought me up in good education I graduated from Harvard University and later received a law degree from there as well in 1834. I was destined for a successful practice in my field until I met and married my beautiful wife, Ann Terry Greene, who converted me to the abolitionist cause I stand against slavery and I also looked to seek improvements for the labor movement I became known as the “golden trumpet” of the abolition movement in the United States because I was known as one of the greatest orators of my time
