UNIT ONE Principles of Democracy: Fundamental worth, equality for all persons, majority rule minority rights, necessity of compromise, individual freedom. Representative Democracy: ?the principle of elected individuals representing the people. Limited Government: a type of government in which its functions and powers are prescribed, limited, and restricted by law. Federalism: power is shared between national and state governments; ensures that power is equally distributed. Types Dual- Two governments side by side, each with its own zones and rarely in conflict. If a conflict the supreme court is the umpire. Cooperative: States and national governments work together to solve your problems.
