Umer Chaudhry Ms. Lislevatn French Revolution 1. There were many significant, precipitating causes of the French Revolution. One of the primary causes was the fact that the French royal government could not command sufficient taxes to finance itself, after its increase in spending with the American Revolution, its own colonies, and other situations that ultimately led France into an economic collapse. France?s high corruption in regards to taxes and popular sovereignty led many members of the Third Estate, the vast majority of the French population, to begin to boycott the adherence to the policies of specific assemblies and rebel against the French governments unfair collection of taxes.?

Chapter 11 ?'s Tuesday, January 03, 2012 11:50 AM ? the southern way of life for the white southerner is mainly on plantations, where they grow surpluses of food and sell it to other countries and the north. The stable crop, cotton ecomony shaped the southern way of life because it was very prosperous and rich. The south had little to no social oppisition even the "clay eaters" were satisfied b/c they were the dominant race bonded togther by kinsmanship the northe differed in the fact theat there was no dominant race so the classes were harsher. So less brotherly love. There were more slave states so they grew in size but they did not advance in tech.

Lecture Notes Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP)? Restriction Enzymes Restriction enzymes are bacterial enzymes that recognize specific (usually short) double stranded DNA sequences (dsDNA) and cut at or near this sequence. The area or site where this enzyme will act is called the Restriction site. It is obvious thus that it will only act on its restricted site. These enzymes were named after the bacteria of origin, example: the enzyme EcoRI was named because it was extracted from E. coli.

Lecture Notes DNA, Genes, Chromosomes and Genetic Testing DNA structure DNA is a double-stranded helical structure. The basic building block of DNA is the nucleotide (base + phosphate + sugar). The backbone of each strand of the helix consists of a sugar-phosphate polymer. In DNA, the sugar is deoxyribose and the phosphates are attached through ester bonds to its 3' to 5' hydroxyl group (i.e. phosphodiester bonds are formed between adjacent deoxyribose units). At the 1' position of the sugar ring is one of 4 nitrogen-containing bases. Two of these, Adenine and Guanine are purines and the other two, Cytosine and Thymine are pyrimidines.
