The Importance of Family in Child Development As children develop, their minds are like blank pages, and parents are the writers. One subject of controversy has been divorce, and how it affects children. However, one thing is clear: children are affected. Divorce is a sign of conflict within the home, and how children deal with that conflict will affect them later in life, often causing emotional trauma that leads them into divorces of their own (Divorce Begets Divorce). As far as its process, divorce has become an easier action since it?s legalization. As a result, many un-necessary divorces happen every year, which could be prevented.
