Definitions. Plantae: Kingdom consisting of multicellular eukaryotes that carry out photosynthesis 1. Peroxisome: An organelle containing enzymes that transfer hydrogen (H2) from various substrates to oxygen (O2) producing and then degrading hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) 2. Phragmoplast: An alignment of cytoskeletal elements and Golgi-derived vesicles that forms across the midline of a dividing plant cell. Alt: the enlarged barrel-shaped spindle that is characteristic of the later stages of plant mitosis and within which the cell plate forms 3. Sporangia: Multicellular organ in fungi and plants in which meiosis occurs and haploid cells develop
