SPECIES LAWS & TREATIES Lacey Act 1900 Required restoration of birds & game to areas where they are extinct. Requires a federal permit to transport live or dead animals or their body parts across state borders Animal Damage Control Act 1931 Investigates & controls mammalian predators, rodents & birds. Amended 1991 to prevent introduction of brown tree snake Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) 1973
