The SAT, which stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test is a very important test which
most Juniors and Seniors need to take inorder to get addmitted into a college.

Some people say that high school is a time to become more independent and to become who you really are, but I don’t believe them. I think that happens after high school, in college or in the real world. High school is a time to try everything once, to admit to yourself that you have no idea who you are and then take risks and try new things so that by the time you graduate, you can become the person you want to be. Therefore, high school is a time when you should take every opportunity to discover more about yourself and the people and world around you.

One week ago: Slowly floating toward consciousness, I begin recognizing the peaceful sounds of a late summer morning greeting me through the open window. As I turn my face to the sunlight now streaming through my bedroom window, I catch a whiff of roses and last night’s rain. After enjoying this simple delight for a few minutes more, I open my eyes lazily and look over at my alarm clock. 9:42. Beautiful.

Summer has finally arrived and the only thing on your mind is trying to relax after a grueling year of school. Many of you will put all your notes and binders somewhere in the deep crevices of your closet and never look at them until forced upon you; but think twice before you decided to put you brain into summer mode. While every one of you guys do deserve a long and relaxing break, keep in mind that it can be very easy to let that relaxation period get the better of us, and may we end up falling into what I like to call the "lazy pit".

What is the one thing high school students do all the time without knowing it? PROCRASTINATION!!! As teenagers enter their freshman year in high school, they will be controlled by procrastination at some point in time. So many teenagers are doing it that it tends to put peer pressure on those who don’t do it. Even the smartest and hard-working students have procrastinated at least once in their lives. How do we handle such a compelling force? Well, I have good news. There are ways to get your homework done without procrastination, and I’m here to tell you how.

1. Take a tour of your school, so you know where all your classes are.
2. Meet new people.
3. Join new clubs.
4. Meet your counselor.
5. Don't be afraid to try something new.
6. Take your classes seriously, your freshman grades do matter.
7. Get help if your struggling in a class.
8. Be active in your community.
