Globalization – the process of global social, economic, and environmental change that leads to an increasingly integrated world. 1 in 11 people (worldwide) have Internet access. Exotic and invasive species are transported to faraway continents in a matter of days through ocean going vessels and airplanes where they have no known predators. An abundance of atmospheric pollutants from car exhaust is found in Greenland, although this country doesn’t own too many cars, from the US mainland.

Water is about 70% of the human body and is found in what we eat; drink, in trees, and plants. Water is everywhere! Water can be utilized for cleaning purposes, diminishing fires, cooking as well as in transportation and recreation. It all depends on how we use water. Water is fun and tastes delicious right after a day out in the sun. Water is also valuable. Did you know humans can go longer without food than they can without water? You could die of dehydration within days if you don?t have H2O. So when you are drinking a cup of that refreshing liquid, do you think you can savor that moment forever? Yes, you can?that is if you care for it. Now if we all are not aware of water pollution, you may also not be aware that we face this problem all over the world.

I. Geography – Nature & Perspectives Sequent occupance: The notion that successive societies leave their cultural imprints on a place, each contributing to the cumulative cultural landscape. This is an important concept in geography because it symbolizes how humans interact with their surroundings. Cultural landscape: Fashioning of a natural landscape by a cultural group. This is the essence of how humans interact with nature. Arithmetic density: The total number of people divided by the total land area. This is what most people think of as density; how many people per area of land.
