The Test without the Class

I think i might want major in Political Science or Economics in college. But my school doesn't offer AP Micro or Macro Economics. My school does offer the test though because other high schools in the area offer the course and everyone comes to our school to take AP exams. Should i just study and prepare for the test on my own(with prep books and such) or would that be a waste of time? Although money is not an issue, time is because I'm taking all honors and advance courses next year and 3 of them are AP.
I guess my main question is:Is it possible for me to prepare for this test on my own?

It would depend on how much time you have and you would have to pay attention to alot of detail, but of course! You would have to feel really confident about it though. a good goal would be to cover a chapter a week. you might also see if the other teachers at other schools can help! I'm sure if you got their e-mails and run by your situation, they might be inclined to send advise, prep work, and tests your way! Just be positive and nothing is ever a waste of time. :)

Since you decided to major in econ, there is no need to take econ AP tests, I guess.

It is possible, but it will be challenging. Also, since you want that to be your major you will have to take the same or similar courses again anyway in college. In my opinion, it's not worth it.
