Setting In ?The Woman in White?, the setting takes place in England during the mid 1800?s. Mr. Farlie owns the Limmeridge house in Cumberland, North England. Walter moves there to pursue his drawing master career. The Asylum was a private asylum in London that Sir Percival locks up Anne Catherick to keep her from revealing his secret. When Laura and Sir Percival Glyde get married, their honeymoon is in Italy. Themes One of the themes in ?The Woman in White? is the emphasis of the few legal rights for Woman?s protection in England. Laura Farlie was robbed of her identity, and switched with Anne Catherick. Also Laura?s inheritance was robbed by her husband, Sir Percival Glyde. He persuaded her into signing a contract for him to have all of her inheritance.

SAR Questions 1. One of Hemingway's original titles for the book was the Lost Generation. In what way are the characters in the novel lost? In what ways has expatriate life corrupted the characters in Paris? Many who lived post WW1 were deemed as the Lost Generation through their lack of optimism following the very First World War. For example, many of the characters seem "lost" with their futures and lifestyles through their binge drinking and lack of sustenance in conversations. Jake, the main character, exemplifies the traits of a member of the lost generation though his drinking problem and inability to have children, physically losing a generation.

The Messina Daily Love is in the air, even the wedding that wasn?t, is The long awaited wedding of humble Claudio and sweet Hero was alarmingly a great shock and a disaster a week ago, as Claudio claimed that he found that Hero had been cheating on him with Borachio. But as the week went past, the officials were able to find the true story and prove Hero?s innocence. But when good news was told upon, Leonato earlier had said to Claudio that Hero had died as he left her in the chapel with his insults, which made Claudio guilty upon hearing this news.
