Albany Plan of Union- A plan introduced by Benjamin Franklin in 1754 that aimed at uniting 13 British Colonies for trade, military, and other purposed; never enacted. Alien- A person who is not a citizen of the country in which he or she lives. Ambassador- A government official appointed by the head of the nation to represent that nation in diplomatic matters. Amendment- A change in, or addition to, a constitution or law. Amnesty- A general pardon offered to a group of individuals for an offense against the government, such as draft evasion during the Vietnam War.

Some plots are based on a story and some on two. Rarely does a reader get to experience reading a story containing both. The book ?Life of Pi? by author Yann Martel is one of these novels. Books that are filled with these opposites though, do often leave some topics unanswered. ?Life of Pi? by Yann Martel has some interesting topics left unanswered such as the reason for two accounts of the ordeal and what the reader is to believe.

Chapter 1 The faint scent of lavender filled the air as a morning breeze rolled through the meadow. The sun lit up the grass with the help of frosted dew, making it sparkle. The absence of clouds made the field look like a paradise in heaven. Taking in a deep breath, Skylar let the wind brush against her face, soaking in the peaceful moment. It was short-lived, as she could hear the croaking of her grandmother from the valley below. Gracefully, she bent down, ignoring the voice of her elder to gently touch the dandelion planted at her feet. She plucked it from the ground, bringing it close to her face and smelling the vulgar scent.
