The religious roles of women in buddhism, social, economic *Religious- In the buddhist religion women were allowed to participate in rituals, and become nuns where they dedicate their lives to the divine spirit. *Social- Women where considered equal in the eyes of the divine spirit they where not under men, nor where men beneath them. Every man and woman was equal. They had social equality. There where also the monks, nuns, and bodhisattvas. *Economic- Since women used Buddhism as a way to escape the harsh social hierarchy of Confucianism and where then able to own land I can assume they had a role in the economy. I couldn?t find anything on what they really did.
