Dude... i'm stumped.

How did the compromises made when writing and ratifying the Constitution encourage the development of political factions? Compare and Contrast the effectiveness of Washington's and Adams' presidencies in obeying and promoting the Constitution during their administrations.

Okay-- i have no idea. but ihave looked for a couple things in my American Pageant book... 12th edition... and Neverstudy.com and also i looked up Washington and Adams presidencies, in google and dictionairy.com (the web part)!
PLEASE HELP

umm... the federalists (Hamilton in particular) were the ones trying to get the anti-feds to agree... pretty much this helped set two different sides... the Federalists told some of the states that were holding out on radification that they would include a bill of rights after the constitution was passed..

bill of rights: The reason why some states (mostly smaller ones) were holding out was because they felt the Federal gov had too much power and the states power would suffer..

Amendment process: The Anti-federalists (who mostly were representatives from smaller states) also believed that the Amendment process was too difficult and once the constitution was passed they would never have a voice or a way to change things in the gov...

I am not the smartest person in the world.. nor can i write organized... but i hope this is at least a start!

Goodluck

Yah I agree witht that. It was Jefferson and Hamilton who broke off and started forming the first political parties. It was the Federalists (Hamiltonians) and the Democrat-Republicans (Jeffersonians). Hamilton said that there should be a strong federal government and his core support came from the wealthy and Jefferson favored states governments and his support was more from the common person and farmers. Hamilton also believed in loose construction of the constitution while Jefferson was a strict constructionist.

The creation of the constitution caused different opinions to form and thus the way to interpret it was split and that formed the two main political parties. In the actual constitutional convention it was more along the lines of states rights vs federal governments rights and the small states favored states rights while the larger ones favored a strong central government.
