alright then cool, i'll go ahead and try to take ap chem in the summer, so i have a good base in college. but only if i start improving in regular chem, which im seeing as an increasing possibility. so yeah, and i'll probably take it in college too if recommended.

i'm going to be completely honest with you. if you're not sure if chemistry is what you want to do, don't take AP chem. i loved chem I and i skipped over chem II and went right to AP and i can't stand it. i already know i'm going to completely bomb the AP exam. i just don't care about the class and i can't remember anything we learn. so take my advice, if you're not totally in love with chemistry, don't take AP.

Dude, hows it goin. Havent talked to u in a while.
About AP Chem. Its definetly important for neuroscience, I would know. As i told u, Im doin NS.
I took AP chem back in high school in my junior year. My teacher was horrible and I didnt put much of an effort into it. I got a 2, but I got a really good foundation for chemistry as I am acing my exams in college.
AP chem material is almost completetly different from what u learn in honors.
First, theres much more detailed material, but it's really interesting. Second the textbooks explain better than the vague high school ones.
And the relevance for NS, it's critical to know how chemical reactions occur that can alter brain activity. The important chapter would probably be electrochemistry, kinetics, and of course, organic chemistry.
BTW, organic chem is a totally different class that is 10x harder than general (AP) chem. And you will probably need orgo. Basically take the class and do the best u can. If not in junior year, then definetly take it in senior year. Psychology, Biology, and Chemistry APs are a must for NS.
Hope that helped man.

How exactly do you plan on taking AP Chem over the summer?
**dshimonov** luckily, I have an AMAZING AP Chem teacher...we don't even USE a textbook! I'm a junior in AP Chem. I love it. My teacher is counting on me getting a 5 but I'm 'worried' about getting a 4! lol

well...I pulled a 98 in Chem I (pre-AP) and im getting about 86's in Chem AP. If you don't like chemistry, and think physics is more your thing than go for physics. I personally hate physics, and love chem, so im taking all the chem i can
