AP Chemistry Test?

Hello, I am a second year chemistry student at my school. After Chemistry 1, we have an advanced chemistry class. Before this year, the advanced Chemistry class was an AP chemistry class, but it was discontinued because it couldn't "Comply with the lenthy labs". So now that i am taking adv. chemistry, i was wondering about taking the ap test. I spoke to my teacher, and he said he probably wouldn't cover everything to the depth the AP exam does, but he said that with some extra studying, that i might be able to pass it, but he also named off a list of the brightest students at our school who chose not to take the exam. So i was looking for the board's oppinion on this matter. Should I take the test? If so what is a good study book to purchase?

Yes I do think you should take the AP exam. I am currently in AP chem so maybe we can study together sometimes and help eachother out. But back to the subject. I know some of the smartest people in my school who took the exam and did poorly and some of them did well. It just depends on how hard you study and how much you want that 5...lol. Dont let the list of names scare you because everyone is different and maybe those kids decided to take other AP exams and didnt want to do extra studying. The book that I would reccomend would be Princeton Review. I used it last year on the AP Bio exam and it really made learning difficult topics easy. I think that 5 steps to a 5 might also be helpful.
