Were you got at chemistry your first year? I don't really think AP matters, as long as you are good and try whatever class you're in.

I'm in it right now. and it is so compleatly diffrent from regular, so INSANELY HARD!!!!!!! I love it though and wouldn't give it up for anything.

Some people in my class aren't taking it to get college credit, though. They're taking it as a prep for colledge chem, to make their lives easier then, which is a prety good idea. Have you already taken it (both of you)? Did you like it?

Our school doesn't offer AP because my teacher doesn't think everybody could handle it. I could because it comes to me easy for the most part, dad is a chemist so it helps to have another teacher at home. I might take the AP exam for it though to get some credit.

Sometimes I feel that when you fail to get at leat a 3 on an AP Exam, it is like all your hard work during the whole year is for nothing. One of my friends has failed every AP Exam except for World History which he is good at. People who are taking AP course's should really take into consideration whethere they will be able to handle it or not. AP Chemistry I definitely cannot handle.

It IS really really tough. But really, that is why it is classified as 'AP'. And the truth is, that if you take the AP exam for it, to get a five you have to get a 67%. I'm not saying that it makes it a wiz- just showing that they aren't entirely unreasonable...

Where did you hear about the 67%?

My AP Chem teacher told my class that...I figured that if he was the person who told us, he'd be the one to know stuff like that. I also heard something about it being lower for AP Bio as well, but I'm not sure about that one...

AP Chem is haarrd... lol. I love the class, as in I love doing the labs. I don't need chem for anything, except the college credit that I'll get will serve as electives in college, I do have to take the exam though in order to get the quality points offered by my high school. My class itself isn't hard because my teacher really hates to see his brightest students struggle, which kinda sucks because we won't be ready for the exam.... a well.

AP Chem isn't that bad....despite all the hatred haha jk...but really if you read online and study guides as well as your textbook, you should be fine. True, it's not like regular chem. which is basically soichiometry...but AP chem goes into A LOT of theory and you should ask some older kids in your school about the AP chem teacher...if he/she is good or not... Because my chem teacher is mediocre but I'm still getting an A+ in his class by reading the textbook and reading study guides.! hope that helped!!
