Anyone want to teach me about titration

I'm not in AP chem, I'm just really bored and want to know. I tried reading about it and it was kinda confusing...

You know you're an AP student if...

you think studying is fun.
you constantly find yourself saying "we had homework?"
everything you know about sex, you learned in english class.

If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?

Ummmm, I think that we did titration, but I don't remember it. That or we haven't done titration yet...

Anyways, I'll take a look and see what I can find.

well...titrations are basically seeing where you have equal amounts of two liquids...usually done with indicators and a vol. of one liquid, and drop drops of the other liquid until you reach the indicator changes color. I don't know how to explain extensively, but for figuring it out on paper, you can use stoichiometry.

They're also really easy to screw up and break things (expensive glassware) in. I think that they show the povotal, or 'balance point' in a reaction, or the ratio of substances needed...

We're about to learn that in the next week or so...

Be really carefull, pianogirl! I think my lab partner and I ran through ten trials to get three good, uncompormied results. I love to do them, but man are they easy to mess up!

Thank you for the warning. I think we were supposed to do that lab on Friday, but I was sick. If not, I'll be sure to follow the directions exactly. Although, it's not like I haven't had to repeat labs....stupid boiler stones...

Yeah, but you have to admit, sometimes goof-ups can be really funny. for instance there was that time when someone in my class accidentaly poured a magnetic stirring penut down the drain of one of our sinks. Those things aren't cheap, so our teacher had the janitor dismantle the sink and get down in there to find the peanut. It was SO funny....but the kid didn't get an A on his lab, which is understandable....

I know this is an old thread, but can anyone explain titration to me? I know you use stoichiometry, but other than that, I'm lost.

I have a problem, and I think I have the right answer, but I'm not sure...
1) In a titration of 35.00 mL of .737 M H2SO4, _?__ mL of a 0.827 M KOH solution is required for neutralization.
A: I think the answer is 62.4, but I'm not sure.

yes, that's right

.737*35*2 = .827 * x
