Case Briefs

Did you get Roger Martin's permission before posting his case briefs on your site?

It is stated on his website ([url=http://people.qualcomm.com/rmartin/outlines.html]http://people.qualcomm....)

Quote:These materials worked for me. Your mileage may vary. You may copy them and distribute them to others, or wad them up into tiny little balls and throw them into the recycling bin, but don't represent them as your own work.

I have followed all of those guidelines so, yes, I have received permission.

Ah Chris :o Roger Martin is talking about sharing briefs with other law students, not posting them on a commercial website. Also, the fact that you didn't give him the credit for this work misrepresents the work as your own.

Oh well, I just wanted to warn you as Roger Martin is a lawyer and lawyers take such violations very seriously.

Take care.

I placed a description of that category that states the following:

Quote:A collection of Supreme Court case briefs written by Roger Martin of USD. You can find other law resources at his site: ">http://people.qualcomm.com/rmartin/outlines.html

I do specifically state who wrote these case briefs, as well as where to find the original source.

His case briefs are also posted on 4lawschool.com. I figured that what I originally assumed by what he meant in regards to sharing the outlines is what he actually meant (did that make any sense?).

I will try to get in touch with him just to clarify.

Thanks,
-Chris

No prob Chris.

By the way, I wouldn't count on 4LawSchool to justify my case because I just checked that site and they have not copied Roger's case briefs. They just link to the word documents that are still hosted on Roger's website.

Anyways, great site and I would hate to see you get in some type of legal trouble.

Take care.

Ahh, good point. Well - I just sent Roger Martin an email so I'll know for sure shortly.

Thanks again for the concern,

-Chris

FYI, I just found a site that uses Roger's briefs. Here is one of the links: http://www.lectlaw.com/files/lws48.htm

It seems like this site got Roger's permission before so I am sure Roger will have no problem granting your site the permission also :)
