Not sure.

Yeah, I'm having trouble just picking a college. Forget scholarships I need to find out where I'm going or what I'm gonna major in. I'm good at Science and Math and stuff, but I'm not really sure what kind of careers I can have with that.

Help?

Do you like doing science labs, or that sort of thing? What about having any hobbies that could be tied into either Math or Science?

And If you still can't think of anything, remember that most people switch careers about three times after college. You'll figure it out eventually!

I'd like to add to xenahorse by saying that most people change their majors 2-3 times in college. That's what your first years are for, to take the general courses, see which you like best, and to try out a few in your major to see if it suits you. I suggest going to a school that's mostly math and science like Georgia Istitute of Technology or California Institute of Technology or something similar-I realize it's getting harder to get into these schools- if you're sure you want to go into math or science. Of course, if you're not 100% sure you want to, or if you want a school with some variety of people (I can tell you- Georgia Tech is full of Math and Science nerds....overflowing!) then you may just want to go to a regular university. Most of the major state universities offer a variety of science degrees. And if you're still not sure if you want to do that or not, you can go to a 2-year community college and then transfer elsewhere- although it's sometimes harder to get in as a transfer student then straight from high school.

As to finding these colleges, there are several free college searches out there. Collegeboard has one (www.collegeboard.com), and there's a helpful site called fastweb that has a scholarship finder, a college finder, and several other useful features (www.fastweb.com). I'm not sure of anymore at the moment, but these should give you a good start and you can look at the facts like gender/race distribution, tuition costs, estimated number of student's each year, etc.

Good luck with your search!

NOw that you brought it up. I need to think about it too. Wat should i do when i grow up? I want to be someone who's helpful to the community, make alot of $, while I can lay back at the same time. I used to think about a career in medicine, like a surgeon, but then it'll take 8-10 years <?> to graduate? ANd there's too much work i don't noe if i can handle it. I'm not good at anything. I kinda want to study abroad and different majors so that i can switch jobs whenever i want to.
I want to be a doctor that can travel around the globe to find cure to disease and stuff. At the same time, i want to be a dancer, learn tai Kwon Do, snowboarding and meet alot of new people. If i do all these things at once, I won't have time for myself. Do you think it's silly thinking?

EDIT:
I like AP Bio, and Us history, but i do bad in those class b/c i never read the materials, even if i did, i won't have time to go over my notes. SO grades doesn't turned out to be very well.
PianoGirl, if you are good with science and stuff, you should try out different classes if you're still in highschool. AS for me, I think i overtake art classes like photography, band, p.e, and classes that are more laid back, fun, and meet my interests. I also take hard core classes like Bio + history So i can chose which area i like best and good at. But it turned out that i can't decide b/c I seem to like everything.

It's not wise to bad mouth the super moderator who's already annoyed, is getting virtually no sleep, and is having the two and a half weeks from h***. Even if it's joking, I don't have much of a sense of humor at the moment....
