Do you think this is WAY too much?

Right now as a Junior, I have Honors PreCal, Honors Chemistry, and AP U.S History. Next year as a senior, I've signed up for AP Calculus AB (or BC if I could), AP Physics B, AP Literature and Composition, AP Government, and AP Psychology. Is this too big of a jump? I was planning to drop AP Literature if it is. Anyway, this summer I'm planning to take Calculus at a community college if that will help lessen the year a little.

It is possible to do all of those, but be prepared to give up almost all of your free time. Also, it may be hard to participate in extracurricular activities/sports.

You definitely got to have time management. For me, I overload the beginning of the week with my assigned homework and lessen up as I hit the weekend. That way, I have plenty of time to do stuff with my friends. With the sports and and clubs, you'll have to be talented with that. I'm not even sure how I'm going to take out my classes and the clubs I want to join in. I love to learn, so I decided to make a lab rat of myself and see if one could really handle six AP classes their Junior year...APES, AP AB Calc, AP Bio, AP Language Comp, AP U.S. History, AP Psychology. I also am already a Varsiety member of my Track team, I am going to do Cross Country, and I want to do Soccer. I also want to be part of Spanish Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and Class Board. I going to be a busy boy with absolutely no life...but happily my friends are spread throughout all the activities I like. That makes it a lot easier to deal with. I'm really organized now also.

If you ever feel like you can't do it, make an agreement with some of your teachers to get your work early;that way you can get the HW done with earlier in the week or when you have time.

Only you can decide if it's too much for you, but I'll give you my opinions.

In my sophomore year, I did not have one non-academic class, and almost half were AP. I was incredibly cranky by year's end, but I actually had more free time than I thought. Homework did take around three-four hours, but when you get home at about 2:40, that still leaves plenty of time. Plus, you can always spend time before class doing the easier assignments. I know that AP Psychology has a lot of reading so be prepared for that one. If you're good at math, I don't think you'll have too hard a time hanging out and being in any extra-curricular activities. Find out which hours aren't set in stone and do as much of your work as you can then; you'll be fine. Just be prepared to have a heck of a work schedule and perhaps a burnout at year's end.

Good luck, and have fun.

Psychology is alot of reading? Great...I was betting on U.S. History and Bio to be the only heavy reading AP Classes. Oh well, at least it is just spitting facts. I have to save the other parts of my mind to get through AP Lang and Comp/ AP AB Calc

Hate to break it to ya, Bio, but AP Language, U.S. History, and AP Psychology are a great deal of reading. My friends tells me AP Biology and AP Government are as well, but she hates reading so, I don't know.

But, look on the bright side, at least by the end of this year you'll be one heck of a speed reader! ;P

Luck, again.

I think I'll be fine with the classes. Thats the least of my worries when it really comes down to it. I'm a little nervous about trying to keep the rest of my life intact. lol.

Don't we all? I think that people today have enough trouble just keeping sane, forget life. ;P

No, I have not taken AP AB Calculus. I will not. Math is my second weakest link, legible handwriting my first. Taking Calculus with Scutter would require both, and I just do not want Weiss or my mom cracking the whip over a failing grade...

But, hey, I got to say, props to you for all those classes. I wouldn't be able to pull it off, too lazy. :)

who exactly is Weiss? your step-dad or something? anyways, but I hope I can keep two word around in my hands, time management. Those are looking quite heavy these last few days though. lol. I made it so that I will have something to do every day, so no extra cat naps.:(

Gods no! I would so be dead! Weiss is my school's Chemistry teacher, basically runs the school, and my superior in NHS. He happened to take a shine to me, so anything I do wrong is breathes down my neck. He cares about his students big time, but he is always so stressed out. Plus, he is a big fan of the passive-aggressive attitude...

No cat naps!? I would not live without cat napping during the school year. You are a very brave soul.
