ooh, I loved 1984 - though it's kinda scary how much you can see it in today's society. Pride and prejudice was okay, but it's like reading a chick flick. I read the awakening in my junior year, but don't really remember it....I think it was entertaining though. Feminist if I remember correctly...

Never read Farewell to Arms though.

Anywho, just thought I'd speak up. Happy reading, don't let it pile up until the end of the semester.

1984 is my favorite book. I use it in almost every essay I write where you need to compare to another piece of literature... and some where you don't. I also used it on the AP Lit exam this past May. It can be applied to so many areas of thought. When you read that one, pay extra attention.

1984 is simply amazing. My list was Jane Eyre (bleghh), The Poisonwood Bible, 1984, and Lord of the Flies.

We didn't have to read anything. All we had to do was do a free write on our values and write an essay on Crossing the Swamp. I wish that my class was more about the literature- my teacher is just teaching to the test.

Keep it or abort it?
Definitely abort it!
