I did not read the book, but I can help you understand what tone is and how you can write about it.

Tone is basically the "feel" or "mood" of the book. Sometimes it's easy to know what it is, sometimes it isn't. If you're reading a comedy, then the tone is happy, if it's a tragedy, it's a solemn or sad tone. That's kinda how it goes.

Wish I could help you more, but I have not read the book.

not necessarily, shakespear's comedys and tradgedys didnt always have happy or sad tones respectivly. Most did, but some did not. Its mostly the mood the author wants you to be in while reading his or hers book
