Writers often highlight the values of a culture or a society by using characters who are alienated from that culture of society because of gender, race, class, or creed.
Choose a play or a novel in which sych a character plays a significant role and show how that character's alienation reveals the surrounding society's assumptions and moral values.

Invisible Man is a great book for this purpose, and I'm sure there are a few others that I can't think of... I would recommend Invisible Man.

I'm not sure if you're still doing this, but I did this essay assignment too. I used Of Mice and Men and it was really easy; got an 8 and revised it for a 9. (:
