Help on essay topic about Jacksonian Period?

I'm having trouble in what topics to write about for my weekend essay ):

"The Jacksonian Period (1824-1848) has been celebrated as the era of the common man. To what extent did the period live up to its characterization? Consider TWO of the following in your response:

Economic Development
Politics
Reform movements"

I'm feeling really lost about this topic...all I know is that I could write about Louisiana Purchase, manifest destiny, and luis&clark expedition, but in which section and what to talk about?

Help please?

I'm doing the same question and this is my opening paragraph:

The Jacksonian Period which lasted from 1824-1828 brought about the term the “common man” which was demonstrated in the Democratic lifestyle our country took on. The average white male citizen was classified under this title leaving out three other types of people in the United States: women, blacks, and Native Americans. The Jacksonian Period lived up to this characterization in the sense that a large amount of American men had the opportunity to become politically active and participate in the development of the economy, thus creating the “common man” because they were under equality, but the term did not fully live up to its definition because only part of society fell into that term.
