Hi, I'm a junior in high school and I'm currently taking the AP Art History class and I'm just wondering what the format of the AP test is like because our teacher hasn't really gone over it. I don't know what the essay questions are like nor what the multiple choice ones are like. I also don't know how much time we have or how many sections there are. I would greatly appreciate some help.
Thanks,:)

The test includes slide-based multiple choice, where you have a certain amount of time to answer questions on these images. The questions cover the function of the art, patronage, period styles, chornology and technique. Then there are the regular multiple choice questions, which test artist and artistic styles, as well as time periods and all that fun stuff. Then there are the essays, the long essay (one where you have to have an example of art that isn't of the European tradition, and another where you have to address art histry themes and problems) and short essay (based on slides from different time periods). The test is 3 hours long, with 115 multiple choice, 7 short answer and 2 long essay questions. You can look in a review book if you have more questions. They usually have practice tests inside, so you can get an idea of what the AP is like. Good luck!

Thanks a bunch. I think I feel a little relief. I'll go and buy a prep book this weekend. Have you ever taken it... and if so.. how did you score?
Thanks again,
