Awkward Moments

Jul 03, 2009

Awkward moments, often times, can lighten up the mood in the room. They can relieve the tension of a given situation. Nevertheless, awkward moments are just that- awkward! The school year consists of many of these and it seems like you always find yourself in the middle of one. One must learn to take them in stride and understand these trivial moments throughout the day are irrelevant. With that being said, here are five situations you may find yourself in during the upcoming school year.

1. Trying to walk by someone in the hallway epitomizes an awkward moment. You try to go left of the individual and that individual tries to go to the right of you. The two of you are bound for an awkward moment. If you're unlucky, you two could dance for quite a while.

2. Another awkward moment can be found when someone asks you how you did on a certain assignment. You respond by saying I'm a bit disappointed. You then tell them your exact grade/score and it is actually higher than that person although they are very content with their score.

3. No one enjoys talking behind someone's back. Many times throughout the year you may be thinking that person is not there only to find out they are right behind you.

4. A teacher asks a question no one is the room has an answer. For some bizarre reason, the teacher does not pick up on this and continues to wait for a reply.

5. As a final vivid example, consider going to a large school where you do not know everyone's name. Someone says hello to you in the hallway and you feel you must return the favor. Of course, you call them by a wrong name only to realize your mistake minutes later.
