Senioritis

Jun 27, 2009

Hello Senioritis! Hello procrastination! And hello plummeting grades! Like OMG!
Apparently, this is the wrong path to go if you haven’t noticed already. In most cases, most students who enter their senior year are prone to this “disease.” This is one hindrance you wouldn’t want to have during your last year of high school. Major procrastination and torpor(laziness) are two things you need to watch out for, for this can blur your future!

Show Initiative! This is very important to have. Many kids have to face the reality of losing sight of school and focusing too much on fun that they find themselves drowning in regret. This is a very lurid sight to see. It’s a position that you don’t want to be in. So please remember that just because it is senior year, it isn’t a joke, it is meant to be taken seriously. So, maintain your focus! Some things to consider are taking AP courses, joining new sports one last time, joining clubs and volunteering to aid in keeping your mind on school.

Well, enough about work, let’s have some fun! That sounds sooo corny right? Well in that case, please
do maintain a sense of sanity, because if you take your last year way too serious and go overboard with it, you lose a sense of yourself and a part of your life that you can never gain back. Although you maybe dealing with your future this year, don’t lose sight of the present day and the past to reflect upon because this is your foundation to the rest of your life! If you your vision of the present day, please do find a way to get it back because it is an important chapter in your life to look back on.

Speaking of the present day, please do remember that it is YOUR YEAR – SENIOR YEAR! It might be difficult balancing between the dynamics of work and fun, but never forget that it is indeed possible to find harmony within this time of your life. Consider the fact that you’ve already completed your first semester, sent your transcripts, finished applications and sent in final teacher recommendations. Second semester may seem like it’s going to be the time of your life, but bear in mind that if you screw up this second half, there is a possibility of rejection from your college of choice. But just because you have to keep focus doesn’t mean you can’t have fun!
So, here is a Senior TO DO LIST:
• As I said before, show initiative!
• Have fun too! Go to the beach!
• Go to the movies on a Tuesday night! (Only if you don’t have homework!)
• Party all you want!
• Do something new and relieve your mind from stress.
• Go to prom even if you’re lonely and dateless! Who cares!
• Go to Senior Picnic/ Senior Dinner/ Senior Trip.
• Spend all your money on this year.
• Date someone if you have to!
• Make new friends.
• Create memories that you hold dear to your heart.
• Reminisce and contemplate your current life.
• Most importantly, SPEND TIME WITH FAMILY because once college comes, I can guarantee that your time will be cramped.
• Moreover, savor every second passing by, because each precious second is a second never to be felt again.
Don’t lose yourself this year!
