Pyramids:

Point V in the figure is the vertex of the pyramid.
The segment perpendicular to the base from the vertex is the altitude and its length is the height h.

Regular Pyramids have:

  1. The base of regular pyramids are regular polygons.
  2. The lateral faces of regular pyramids are congruent isosceles triangles.
    a. The height of a lateral face is called the slant height, denoted as l, of the pyramid.
  3. All lateral edges are congruent.
  4. The altitude intersects the base at its center.

The lateral area of a pyramid can be found in two ways:

  1. Find the area of one of the lateral faces and multiply the area with thehave. number of sides the base
  2. Use the formula L.A. = ½ pl : p denotes the perimeter of the base.
