Preparing for the AP/tests kind of scares me...

I'm kind of worried about the AP. I'm already freaking out about the tests I have in AP art history now and they are all shorter time periods than the AP, so when the AP comes around I think I'm just going to faint. How do YOU study for art history? Would you just look at images and memorize their artists or what? I'm just worried that I'm not going to remember a single thing.

If I remember correctly, it's supposed to just be Picture, Time Period, and Artist. It's just a lot of pictures to memorize.

To tell you the truth, I had the same anxiety when I took the AP Art History Exam last year. I messed up Big Time on the test, but it was only because I didn't notice I use the wrong picture for the wrong question in the short essays.

I didn't pass it, but I know what I'm gonna do when I re-take the exam next year.

To study for it--although there is no right or wrong way--review the notes you've taken. Try remembering some artist like Velasquez, Rembrandt, Da Vinci, and Raphael. Those aren't guarentee to be on the test, but you should know some of the major artists during the art period--or style--that they painted.

Study Architecture, and some of the earlier art as well--don't limit yourself to study just modern day things. Use the book that you use for you Art History class to study, or at least to see some of the pictures.

Don't stress it either. That's not something you should do. ^_^

Well, I dunno if that'll help you, or not...that just how I'm going to study for it!

I'm really worried too. My teacher is a tyrant and at the rate she's going, we are going to be done with two textbooks afew months before school ends. I wouldn't mind studying with someone, so if you want to, contact me on aim (jiffyskiffy808) and we can try to help each other. =)

I took it... It really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. As long as you can relate the work to the time period and say what was going on and how it influenced the art, you will do fine. Just know the really important artists, their styles and general things about the time.

Thank you. If you have any more tips, they will be greatly appreciated. This is the first AP class I have ever taken, so I am not exactly sure how to handle this type of work.

I love your signature by the way.

LOL. Thanks! I just thought that quote was pretty funny. Haha.

But yeah. Totally feel free to message me if you have any more worries about art history, or APs in general.

Is it better to retake the exam or just leave it on your file as a failing score?
I know it's bad to cancel a score but to retake it...
Thanks so much
