Clumping? -Examples are patches of desert vegetation around springs, cottonwood trees clustered along streams, wolf packs, flocks of geese, and schools of fish. The location and size of these clumps vary with the availability of resources. MOST COMMON (why?)- (1) Resources a species needs caru greatly in availability from place to place (2) Living in herds, flocks, and schools can provide some animals with better protection from predators and population decline (3) Living in packs gives some predator species such as wolves a better chance of getting a meal (4) Some animals species form temporary groups for mating and caring for their young.
