  1. Using the formula: uv - ò v du. With this formula, substitute for dv the most complicated term that can be integrated.

ex.

ò x cos x dx

substitute:

dv = cos x u = x
v = sin x du = dx

uv - ò v du

x sin x - ò sin x dx
x sin x - ( -cos x ) + C
x sin x + cos x + C
