One Girl. Nine Exams. Endless Amount of Stress

Sep 18, 2010

I've been thinking about what my contribution to this site would be for a long time. I've wanted to blog for a long time but I never knew what about. I've finally decided that I will just share my stories, so that all those drowning students don't feel so lonely out their in their ocean of a highschool. I don't know about you, but it makes me feel better to know that there is someone out there who is as stressed out of their minds as I am.

What I wanted to share first my realization of all the exams I am reqiured to take this year as a junior:
1)SAT
2)ACT
3)AP U.S. History Exam
4)AP Language and Composition Exam
5)SAT Math 2 Subject Test
6)SAT Subject Test: World History
7)SAT Subject Test: English
8)SAT Subject Test: Biogly
And last (and definitly least)....
9)California State Test Exams!
Looking at this list just gives me night terrors but I am trying to pinpoint the exact reasons why.
Is it the cost of not only the fee to take the exams but the books to study for them? Of course.
Is it the overwhelming worry of bombinb one of these and recieving a dreaded low score? Definitly.
Is it the fear of someone telling you that you aren't as smart as you think you are? Oh, yeah.
Is it the stress of having to compete with your peers who want to prove their intellect by smashing your scores with their own? Duh!

So it can be concluded that exams lead to nothing but anxiety, stress and worry. But who didn't know that?

I know I'm not the only one out there facing this list of exams alone so I call on my fellow over-achievers to untie and not compete with eachother, but to offer comfort and words of support so everyone can get through this trying year and rise up to achieve the score, success and nap that they've been dreaming of since the school year started.

Need Notes?

While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
